Green Mountains Don't Long for Clouds

When Lin Ye, a modern border defense armed police officer, dies on a mission, she opens her eyes to find herself transmigrated into the imperial examination novel The Splendor of a Humble Family, a male-oriented story. She has become the nameless child bride of the male lead, Zhou Yan, who is about to get engaged and destined to die young. Faced with her predetermined fate as a “stepping stone,” she draws on a soldier’s iron will and decisiveness and tears up the engagement in public: “I will not sell myself to become a footnote in another man’s past. I will stand between heaven and earth and become a peak in my own right.”
