Sir, Please Let Go!

[A calculating power broker × a clear-eyed woman who transmigrated] Modern office worker Wen Yu transmigrates overnight and becomes Xiaoyu, a household slave in the mansion of the powerful official Gu Lingyue, where she is constantly bullied. Faced with the strict hierarchy of a noble household, she has only one thought: save enough money to buy her freedom and escape!

She plans carefully, moving from menial chores to sweeping the library, quietly putting her modern knowledge to use. But when she makes the astonishing decision to refuse becoming a concubine, she unexpectedly catches the attention of the cold-faced power broker Gu Lingyue.

At first, Gu Lingyue assumes this is just a maid’s ploy to play hard to get. He watches coldly, waiting for her to show her true colors. But when she repeatedly demonstrates knowledge far ahead of her time, and even calmly saves him when he is in danger, his long-dormant heart stirs for the first time.

Seize her by force? She would rather break than bend. Threats and bribes? She has her own ways of making money. When Gu Lingyue realizes that the woman he thought he held in the palm of his hand is actually flourishing beyond his control, jealousy and possessiveness consume him. He lays a trap and forcibly keeps her by his side.

But all he has kept by force is a shell growing colder by the day. It takes a grave illness that brings her close to death for Gu Lingyue to finally understand: true love is not possession, but respect and letting go.

See how this clear-eyed, independent modern soul uses her wits to break through obstacles and her resilience to stand on her own in an imagined ancient world, until the power broker who is used to controlling everything learns to love as an equal. Together, they write a legend of freedom and true love.
