In the parallel universe of “Teya,” the “Final War” broke out three years ago. Father of Ultra led his entire race to Earth’s aid, where they fought to the death against the monster army led by the Baltans and a coalition of Dark Giants. In the end, every Ultraman fell. Their bodies lay across the ruins of cities or drifted in near-Earth orbit, while some sank into the deep sea or were lost in the wilderness. Though the monster army suffered heavy losses, its remaining forces used Ultraman corpses as “energy bait,” establishing strongholds across Earth and hunting humans. Earth’s population plummeted from seven billion to fewer than thirty million. The survivors retreated to underground shelters known as “Hives,” governed by a united government. A small number of humans awakened the ability to transform after coming into contact with “particles of light” left behind by Ultraman corpses, becoming the “Children of Light.” But the awakening success rate was less than one in a thousand, and most of those who sought the “light” died in monster ambushes. The protagonist, Lin Ye, was a former urban search-and-rescue worker. During a mission to gather supplies, he accidentally came into contact with Leo’s corpse and became Leo. With ruthless resolve, he fights for survival in the darkness.
