The Long-Buried Legends of Our Homeland

A legendary war hero who served in the Korean War is reassigned to a county town. After coming to blows with the county Party secretary's younger brother while trying to save a female university student, he abandons the city for the countryside, where he is drawn into a whirlpool of family and political intrigue.

On the banks of the Qinglong River, the war hero reunites with the young woman beneath the Sage Kong's locust tree. Together with village doctors, rural teachers, and grassroots officials, they pour sweat and tears into the land they love, even as it is drenched in the blood of sacrifice.

History does not repeat itself, but stories sealed away by time will always have their truths brought to light. They may be ordinary people, yet in the face of adversity they stand tall as the backbone of the nation. They are the ones who uphold half the rural world and write stirring chapters with their lives!
