Fish Mutate: In the Name of the Fishing Emperor, I Will End This Era

I woke up to find fish mutating like crazy. Even the smallest ones weighed over a hundred pounds!

The ocean became a forbidden zone, and humanity retreated inland. But I, Chen Xuanyu, an utterly ordinary fishing enthusiast, suddenly noticed the world had changed before my eyes: I could see every creature’s “bite point.”

I cast out a strap from my backpack and somehow hooked a mutated catfish as big as a bus in the lake!

While the whole school stood stunned, the mysterious organization known as the Sky-Hanging Alliance came looking for me. “Kid, you’re a once-in-a-thousand-years fishing prodigy!”

I’d planned to keep my head down and grow stronger, until I met Chu Yanran, the cool and aloof fishing master, serene as the moon.

She said, “My father was the previous Fishing Emperor. Before he died, he used a bloodline prophecy to foretell your existence.”

She said, “Only you can fish up this mad era alongside me.”

She said, “But if you fall in love with me, you’ll die. The partners of those who carry the Fishing Emperor’s bloodline are all struck down by the curse.”

I laughed and cast my rod, its line slicing through the sky.

“Let’s see whether my rod can first catch every primordial fish ancestor from the Classic of Mountains and Seas, or whether this curse takes my life first.”

When the Catfish of Chaos devoured the stars and anglers around the world broke down in despair, I held her close as her bloodline burned and cast my hook toward the end of time.

This cast isn’t for fish or the sea.

I’m going to drag so-called fate down from that supreme throne!

Tradition isn’t meant to be worshipped, and rules aren’t meant to be obeyed.

In this age ruled by fish, I, Chen Xuanyu, will bring it to an end in the name of the Fishing Emperor!
