Great Tang: The Mad Crown Prince Recreates the Xuanwu Gate Incident

After transmigrating into Li Chengqian, Crown Prince of the Tang Dynasty, he faces the prospect of being deposed over his leg condition and the Prince of Wei forcing his way into the palace from the start.

Li Chengqian says: “I'm done pretending. I'm a madman, and I'm coming clean!”

In the Golden Hall.

Li Shimin roars, “You rebellious son! Why did you break the Prince of Wei's leg?”

Li Chengqian answers with righteous conviction, “Father, Confucius said, ‘While your parents are alive, do not travel far; if you must travel, have a destination.’ By breaking Second Brother's leg, he won't be able to go wandering around anymore and will have to stay by our parents' side and fulfill his filial duties. Isn't that the greatest act of filial piety?”

Li Shimin: “???”

Wei Zheng remonstrates to the death: “The Crown Prince has lost all virtue. Not only has he beaten a prince, he has also insulted this old minister!”

Li Chengqian draws his sword. “Confucius said, ‘If I hear the Way in the morning, I can die content in the evening.’ That means if I find out how to get to your house in the morning, you'll be dead by evening! Lord Wei, would you like to hear reason, or would you like to hear physics?”

The entire court is stunned: “!!!”

When faced with Zhangsun Wuji, who's looking to stir up trouble,

Li Chengqian chuckles. “Uncle, Father wasn't quite ruthless enough at the Xuanwu Gate back then. How about I put on an upgraded version for you?”

Li Shimin panics. “Guards! Burn the Crown Prince's Analects! Don't let him read any more books by the sages. At this rate, there won't be anyone left alive in the Tang Dynasty!”
