After Getting the Transmigration System, I Got the Emperors Competing to Outdo One Another

If Qin Shi Huang, Emperor Wu of Han, and Emperor Taizong of Tang competed against one another, who would truly deserve the title of greatest emperor in history?

Programmer Chen Che works himself to death and, instead of transmigrating into a prince or a general, becomes a ball of light: a sub-System with “administrator privileges.” His mission is to summon every emperor from the Qin to the Qing dynasty into a space called the Hall of Eternal Ages and stage an unprecedented competition to rank the emperors of China.

Thus Liu Bang, Xiang Yu’s old nemesis, sits alongside Emperor Guangwu Liu Xiu, while Emperor Wen of Sui, Yang Jian, faces Li Yuan, the Tang emperor who replaced him. The beggar emperor Zhu Yuanzhang squares off against the Mongol khan Kublai Khan. Time and space impose no limits here. Only the harshest rules apply: each emperor is judged comprehensively across four dimensions: achievements, governance, character, and influence.

Yet this is about more than scores and debates.

As the competition reaches its climax, even more astonishing challenges begin: emperors swap souls, forcing Qin Shi Huang to experience Emperor Huizong of Song’s artistic talent and humiliation, and Emperor Taizong of Tang to confront Chongzhen’s desperate predicament. Historical simulations put the past to the test: Zhu Yuanzhang is sent to the late Qing to see how the Hongwu Emperor would handle a crisis unlike any in three thousand years, while Emperor Guangwu Liu Xiu experiences the An Lushan Rebellion firsthand, testing whether his “gentle approach” can put an end to the collapse of a golden age.

This is the ultimate simulation of history, and an extreme test of imperial statecraft and the course of civilization.

Chen Che sits high upon the throne of the King of Hell, looking down on the grand feast of the ages he has orchestrated. He aims to determine not only who was the greatest emperor, but also the ultimate answer to the rise and fall of Chinese civilization.
