After Earning Merit for My Crimes, I Became an Insider's Secret Weapon

Former detective Li Rui, fitted with an electronic ankle monitor, discovers a copycat crime while patrolling his community. Its methods are exactly the same as those used to frame him years ago. The real culprit is still at large, and the police are at a loss. Dragging his shackles behind him, Li Rui pursues the criminal alone and finally corners him in a dead-end alley. The culprit grins viciously. “Officer Li, I’m paying tribute to you.” His wrongful conviction is overturned, but he can never wear his uniform again. The provincial department transfers him to its newly established Office for the Review of Difficult Cases, where he becomes a section-level director tasked with handling the cases the police force dares not investigate. From disgraced convict to a sword hanging within the system, he can shorten his sentence only by solving cases.
