After Three Years of Cultivation in the Tang Dynasty, I Drafted a Century-Long National Strategy

Li Lingyue, a modern-day farm owner, is born into the Tang Dynasty and becomes Princess Taiping, whose historical fate was tragic. Knowing how brutal the power struggle between the Li and Wu families can be, she decides to use her “frail and sickly” persona to retreat to a Taoist temple on Mount Zhongnan and cultivate herself, secretly building up her strength with modern agricultural and engineering knowledge. However, at a crucial court assembly where Wu Zetian is considering naming a crown prince, a “starry sky projection” suddenly appears above Chang'an, livestreaming Li Lingyue's secretly planned “Centennial Infrastructure Survey of the Great Tang” as a holographic documentary to the assembled officials.

In the projection, she is not merely a delicate princess, but also the “Mother of Hydraulic Spinning” and the “Pioneer of Cement Roads.” Faced with achievements that cannot be disputed and are even “confirmed” by historical records from later generations, Wu Zetian's suspicion turns to delight, while the upright officials at court go from doubting Li Lingyue to worshipping her. Reluctantly dragged out of her comfort zone, Li Lingyue develops infrastructure and quells internal rebellions with the starry sky's “spoiler-style” assistance and “public-embarrassment-style” prodding. At last, amid cries that “the Mandate of Heaven has chosen her,” she ascends the throne and ushers in an industrial civilization for the Great Tang centuries ahead of its time.
