I’m Lin Chong! I used to be a struggling salesman at the bottom of the ladder. Then, in a single twist of fate, I transmigrated back to ancient times. My previous life was mediocre and full of frustration, but in this life I swear to change my fate. I’ll protect my parents and the person I love, and never repeat the mistakes of the past. I devote myself to medicine and martial arts, make perfume, sit for the imperial examination, and rise step by step on my own merits. I’ll keep my family safe, and stand up for my country when it needs me.
I can’t bear to watch people be bullied anymore, to see kindness trampled underfoot, or to watch hard work come to nothing. With my own strength, I’ll tear away the gloom hanging over us and rip open the long, dark night.
I’ll see justice done, give the weak someone to rely on, give those who strive a way forward, and bring a little less suffering and a little more light to this world.
No matter how cruel fate becomes, even if everything is reduced to nothing overnight, I will not yield.
I’ll make the heavens shine because of me!
I’ll bring peace to this troubled world!
