My name is Xiao Yu. Born under the Canopy Star, I'm fated to earn my living among the dead.
When I was seven, I was struck by lightning. My master said it was a "heavenly tribulation" and took me in as a yin guide.
My childhood friend A Wei begged my master to take him in too, because he was born with yin-yang eyes and had always seen things ordinary people couldn't.
We worked together for ten years, guiding departed souls and suppressing evil spirits. We thought we were perfectly in sync.
Then Bangdi appeared, bound by a century-old debt of love, and A Wei saw the shadow of my past life in her.
The night the formation broke, Jiali's soul scattered as she protected A Wei. With red-rimmed eyes, A Wei asked me, "Your brother or your lover. Which one do you choose?"
I raised the bronze sword passed down from our founding master, but for the first time, I didn't know where to point it...
