Lin Jiaojiao is a short-video creator with a million followers, famous for being a “drama queen.” Overnight, she transmigrates into a book and becomes the “biggest drama queen” at a third-line factory in Northeast China in 1975. The original body owner jumped into a river to force a marriage, only to knock out Shen Qingya, a cold-faced military officer and hidden big shot, who was bathing downstream.

The information gap is her golden finger. Using the storytelling techniques she learned from short videos, she launches a program called “The Workers’ Voice” on the factory radio station, gets the first-hand information on the resumption of the college entrance exams, and helps the workers’ children get into college together. With polyester offcuts costing just 0.3 yuan per jin, she teaches the workers’ families to make fitness pants and establishes the country’s first jeans subcontracting factory. In 1982, she heads to Shenzhen to start a business, selling the mini fans designed by the military officer at the Canton Fair and securing a million-yuan order from a Hong Kong businessman.

Just as the university gates open to her, her brother is in a serious car accident, leaving the family without its main breadwinner. She resolutely keeps her place at university while earning money on a sewing machine to pay for his treatment and helping Shen Qingya fulfill his dream of flying again.

With policy changes, family bonds, romance, and patriotism all in full swing, the couple sends a domestically made jumbo jet into the sky together. Their aerial wedding trails colorful smoke, bringing a period-style comeback and sweet romance to a perfect happy ending!

Packed with satisfying moments and plenty of romance, watch the drama queen turn 1977 into her own trending topic!
