I, the Patriarch of Maoshan, Hunt Ghosts Online

I, Zhang Jiuyuan, may be the most frustrated Maoshan successor in history.

Before my master died, he patted my shoulder and said, "Jiuyuan, you're a Daoist Sagely Constitution, the kind that appears once in a century. You're the future hope of our Maoshan sect. Remember, don't be afraid when trouble comes. Your blood is more useful than any talisman."

I believed him and trained hard for twenty years.

Then tonight, facing this century-old red-clad fiend, I watched the talismans I was so proud of get torn apart like scraps of paper. Only then did I understand what my master had meant. He must have been telling me to splash it in the face with my blood so I could die with a little dignity.

The moment the fiendish energy pierced my chest and my blood dripped onto the ancestral compass, a transformation took place.

The red-clad fiend didn't pounce. Instead, it trembled all over, as if it had seen something utterly terrifying. Then... it slowly knelt before me.
