My Archrival Steals the Bride? The Rough Army Officer Keeps Her Warm Night After Night

[Period setting + military marriage + marriage first, love later + family life, rugged army officer + sweet, gentle young wife, age gap, devoted couple]

(No golden finger, not reborn, a slow and steady story)

Lin Xiangcao went on a blind date.

The bad news: sitting across from her was her sworn enemy, arm in arm with the man Lin Xiangcao was supposed to meet.

The good news: a broad-shouldered man appeared out of nowhere and put an arm around her. “Sorry I’m late.”

The bad news: he was the guy whose… equipment she had accidentally sat on and crushed on the bus last time. He looked grim and fierce. Meanwhile, her mother was holding his hand and grinning from ear to ear.

The good news: the man was Zhou Tieshan, her brother’s old army buddy, a deputy battalion commander.

She heard he was merciless when training soldiers, had a booming voice, and could knock a man down with one punch. The children in the army compound would hug the wall to avoid him.

But Zhou Tieshan promised her, “I won’t be rough with you.”

After they married, Lin Xiangcao held her aching waist and nearly cried. He wasn’t rough with her, but he sure knew how to wear her out! What happened to him not being interested in women?

Zhou Tieshan’s hands were rough. They had gripped rifles and swung hammers, but now, with just a gentle sweep, they drew his soft, fair little wife into his arms.

Forged steel turned pliable as silk. He roared loud enough to shake the camp by day, but at home in the evenings he lowered his voice, afraid of frightening her.

But his little wife was ambitious, throwing herself into her career at the textile mill. Deputy Battalion Commander Zhou had no choice but to find new ways to make his presence felt every night.

“Xiangcao, the kang is warm. Sit here and knit.”

“Wifey, are your feet cold? Let me warm them for you.”

This is a heartwarming story about a tough man cherishing his wife with all his heart, while his little wife gradually grows her own wings amid the daily grind and everyday life in the army compound.
