From the Start with the Houston Rockets: Building a Dynasty for Yao Ming

In 2002, Lin Feng, a Chinese-American owner armed with twenty years of NBA history from the future, became the power behind the Houston Rockets. He had just one goal: build an immortal dynasty for the giant who was about to arrive, Yao Ming. From tanking to draft the chosen one, LeBron James, to using his keen eye to sign overlooked late-round gems, he leveraged the advantages of the draft to assemble the most formidable championship roster in history around Yao Ming. As a result, Yao Ming no longer had to retire early due to injury, James spent his entire career with one team, and Curry and Jokic joined in turn. From the ascension of the “Ming Emperor” to the reign of the “Space Rockets,” four three-peats spanning different eras forged an everlasting NBA legend unlike any other.
