Back to 2002: Starting with Water Margin Cards

If you could live your life over again, what would you do?

Lin Xiaoyu’s answer is to return to that summer, bite into a chilled watermelon to the mournful hum of an old electric fan, and meet the young version of himself and the people he loved all over again.

In 2002, in a small city in Shuzhou, time moves slowly and the future is full of promise.

With an adult’s soul, he hides the weight of age and cautiously grows up all over again.

This time, he won’t be a hero. He just wants to be an ordinary person who is happy.

With a vision beyond his time, he begins with a pack of Water Margin cards and a cup of milk tea, clumsily but determinedly weaving his own future.

Family, friendship, and love are the most important investments of his life.

School, internet cafes, and a startup are the battlefields where he makes his mark.

Su Wanqing’s quiet companionship and Gu Xiaoman’s passionate devotion are both his sweet burdens and the motivation that keeps him moving forward.

This is a story about making up for regrets, treasuring the present, and striving for happiness.

Let’s return to that summer together and see how an ordinary person warms the years with his own hands and starts his life anew.
