Journey to the West: I Am Wei Zheng

After the overworked programmer Li Wei dies suddenly, he transmigrates into Wei Zheng from Journey to the West, just as Wei Zheng is about to slay the Jing River Dragon King in a dream.

Faced with the schemes of gods and Buddhas, he binds himself to the Human Self-Reliance System and cries, “My fate is mine to command, not Heaven's!”

From then on, he slays no dragons and makes no pilgrimage. Instead, he punches through the Heavenly Court's conspiracies and kicks apart the Western Heaven's schemes, transforming the Tang Empire into an ironclad fortress, a “sacred land for humanity, forbidden to gods and Buddhas.”

This is a hilarious epic about humanity defying fate under the leadership of a crafty schemer who never runs out of cheeky remarks.
