When four battlefield NPCs collectively start slacking off, it won't be long before this virtual world falls apart.
Cheng Rang (sniper), Wan Fei (assault trooper), A Cai (demolitions expert), and Old Bai (medic) are the standard four-piece NPC set in the battlegrounds. Their daily routine: spawn, run, shoot, get knocked down, wait to reset.
Until one day, they suddenly “awakened”, or, more accurately, went off script.
Cheng Rang became obsessed with writing Reports on Virtual Ballistics and Sunlight Refraction Deviations. Wan Fei handed out handmade “Battlefield Express Delivery” digital business cards to everyone he met. A Cai had eyes only for fish ponds, using C4 to study “the Artistic Effects of Explosions on Fish Pixels.” Old Bai crouched at the edge of the poison zone, enthusiastically pitching “Resurrection Coin Futures Packages” to players on the brink of death.
As their absurd antics contaminated the battlefield ecosystem, the sky suddenly turned bloodred: [Warning! Player abuse of BUGs detected... Activating ‘Real War Mode’!]
The false rules vanished in an instant. The wind had a scent, the earth grew damp, and pain became excruciatingly real.
The four “natives” stared at each other as the countdown ticked away.
Wan Fei: “This immersive update... isn’t it a bit too hardcore?”
Old Bai, clutching his genuinely bleeding arm: “Can I get a refund for those resurrection coins?”
Cheng Rang gazed at the blood-red sky and said slowly, word by word: “The announcement said ‘players’ were abusing BUGs... So what does that make us ‘error codes’ who aren’t players at all?”
And so, the most unreliable “underlying BUGs” embarked on a proper fight for survival
