It tells the story of the Wu Zhou period of the Tang Dynasty, which makes up for the death of the talented Shangguan Wan'er. It is well written, but what I want to say is that Wu Zetian was not a good emperor. History textbooks say that her attacks on powerful families and clans were one of her highlights, but I think she attacked hostile families, and then promoted the families close to her, attacked the Li Tang clan, and supported her relatives. I think this is not a bright spot, but a black spot. During her reign, she used ruthless officials to fight against hostile forces, and Instead of making the people better, they made them worse. They were weak externally, lost their land, suppressed internally, and favored villains and male favorites. Although they promoted virtuous ministers and established imperial examinations, they mostly promoted cronies, relatives, villains, and male favorites. There was no good reform and development for the Tang Dynasty, but it went backwards, without civilized governance and martial arts. I think her achievements far outweighed her merits. Her biggest selling point is that she was a female emperor, so I think Wu Zetian's evaluation among historical emperors is high.
