I Threw an EDM Party at the Funeral Home, So My Ancestors Could Leave Smiling

[Genre: Reinventing the funeral industry] + [Theme: Hilarious yet heartwarming] + [Character: A shameless heir] + [Style: Unconventional face-slapping] + [Turnaround: From getting flamed by the entire internet to becoming a legend]

Just after graduating, Su Bai, a post-2000s kid, inherits his father’s funeral home, which is a million yuan in debt and on the verge of bankruptcy.

Creditors are blocking the entrance, competitors are watching for a laugh, and even the home’s sixty-year-old employees are ready to pack up and leave!

At the point of despair, Su Bai binds to the “Underworld Shenanigans System,” and the very first mission leaves him completely stumped.

“First assignment: Hold a ‘fired-up’ funeral for an esports kid!”

So, while the whole internet livestreams this “bizarre funeral,” things spiral completely out of control

The solemn funeral hall is transformed into an esports cafe blazing with neon lights. Mournful music is replaced by adrenaline-pumping anthems. Every guest has a bottle of gamer fuel in hand, while a giant holographic screen loops the deceased’s five-kill highlights!

The whole internet erupts: “Outrageous! This is a desecration of the dead!”

Traditional competitors are so furious they reach for emergency heart medication. “Ban him! He has to be banned!”

But the deceased’s parents are in tears at the scene, shouting excitedly, “Farewell, Captain! MVP!”

From then on, Su Bai rockets to success in the funeral business.

“Throw a farewell concert for an old-school rocker, and get the whole crowd moshing until they nearly break their necks!”

“Give a centenarian a joyous funeral, with suona and DJ music, and get the whole village dancing!”

Facing countless doubts, Su Bai holds a cigarette between his lips and scoffs:

“Who says goodbyes have to be all tears? I’m not throwing a funeral. I’m throwing every departed soul the one and only curtain-call party of their life!”
