That Year, I Had My Hands in My Pockets, and the Dating Show Director Was My Dog

After Jiang Chen returns from a five-year disappearance, he discovers that his top-tier star ex-girlfriend is taking part in the S-rank dating reality show Heartbeat on a Deserted Island with their twins, a boy and a girl.

The mother and children are bullied by rich heirs, framed by a scheming social climber, forced to live in a leaky tent, and vilified across the internet?

Furious, Jiang Chen says, "System, activate the hundred thousand android death soldiers and buy me the island! I'm going on the show myself!"

And so, millions of viewers witness a scene that turns their world upside down:

While everyone else gnaws on tree bark to survive in the wilderness, Jiang Chen digs up Australian lobsters with ease.

While rich heirs flaunt their limited-edition watches, Jiang Chen's "ordinary friends" show up in an aircraft carrier to deliver a package.

Just as the scheming star is about to cause trouble, a "passing" wild boar sends her flying out of the competition!

The audience: Is this guy really some down-and-out nobody? He's here to stock up!

Then one day, the chief director bows obsequiously to Jiang Chen. "Boss, are you satisfied with the script?"

The whole internet explodes! Su Qingge stares at the "death soldiers" all over the island, stunned. "You call this being bankrupt?"
