Water Margin: The Kingdom of Jinghai, Heaven's Cycle of Reincarnation

In the first year of the Xuanhe era, on the eve of their surrender to the Song court, undercurrents swirled through Liangshan. Li Jun, the Dragon Who Stirs the Rivers, intercepted a secret order from the Privy Council and learned that the day they defeated Fang La would also be the day his sworn brothers were poisoned to death. Unwilling to bow his head and await execution, he led his trusted brothers Ruan Xiaoqi, Yan Qing, and others, taking an elite naval force and setting sail to escape Liangshan, which was on the brink of collapse.

Through raging seas, survival on a deserted island, and struggles between tribes, the band of exiles endured countless brushes with death before establishing themselves on Qixia Island. They abandoned their bandit ways, building fortifications and cultivating the wilderness, opening up the sea and blending the civilization of the Central Plains with the wisdom of the natives to found the Kingdom of Jinghai. At home, they established the Jinghai Code, built workshops, and opened schools for children, uniting the people. Abroad, they fought pirates, allied with other islands, and resisted the Song court, carving out a sanctuary overseas.

Pursuers from the Song court, Blackfin Pirates, tribal rebellions, and spies from the imperial court: crises followed one after another. Li Jun commanded the whole with wisdom and courage, Yan Qing wove a web of intelligence, Ling Zhen defeated enemies with firearms, and former Liangshan comrades such as Sun Li and Huyan Zhuo joined them one by one. Their brotherhood formed the backbone, and law and order their sinews. They defended their new home amid flashing blades and fulfilled a new vision of "acting in Heaven's name" through trials by fire and blood.

When the Jingkang Incident shattered the prosperity of the Song, this overseas haven had become a refuge for the people of Huaxia. The spirit of Liangshan endured, and across the vast ocean, a new dawn of civilization and freedom began to shine.
