“The Yellow River bends ninety-nine times, and in every bend lies a coffin of ill omen.”
People know the Yellow River as the mother river, but few realize that its bed is the world's largest graveyard.
I'm the last corpse retriever on the Yellow River.
The day I entered the trade, my master laid down three iron rules:
One: Never take a boat out in a thunderstorm.
Two: Charge extra when retrieving a corpse with two lives.
Three: A corpse standing upright in the water is impossible to retrieve, even for the gods. If you see one, bow your head, turn around, and run!
When I was eighteen, a severe drought struck the Yellow River, exposing its riverbed.
Someone offered me a fortune to dive down and retrieve a rusty iron ox that had been used to hold back the river.
I broke the rules. Not only did I retrieve the iron ox, I also brought back a transparent crystal coffin.
From then on, I could see through the muddy waters of the Yellow River and glimpse an underwater city buried beneath the silt for a thousand years...
It turned out that what flowed beneath the Yellow River wasn't water, but the Yellow Springs.
It turned out that what we retrieved weren't corpses, but the uncanny gods and demons sealed beneath the riverbed!
Very beautiful, I love this
I like the compact and non-greasy rhythm
Shocking the world, weeping ghosts and gods. There are tears in laughter, and sadness in joy. The author is awesome 👍
Very exciting, looking forward to the follow-up
