The Scholar's Integrity

In the final years of the Xiangfu era, an upheaval unseen in a thousand years is about to begin.

He places first in the imperial examinations, yet becomes a nobody without a penny to his name.

To avoid dying in someone else’s schemes and take control of his own fate, he fights his way upward.

Luckily, he arrives just in time for a momentous age.

As top scholar Zheng puts it: Enough talk. Follow him!

He chases them for miles with a clanging racket. His motto is simple: A gentleman never leaves a grudge unpaid.

Other officials rely on social graces, keeping everyone on their side and riding the coattails of the powerful. Zheng Qizhong’s approach is simpler: Believe him if you want, and get lost if you don’t.

If reason won’t get through to you, Zheng knows a thing or two about fighting. If you’re injured, he knows medicine too. If you’re unfortunate enough to die, he can handle the funeral rites. And if you’re still unwilling to accept your death, Zheng can exorcise demons as well.
