Great Ming: I Only Want to Keep My Head Down, but Old Zhu Is Forcing Me Onto the Throne

[Ming Dynasty + Mind Reading + System + Lighthearted Comedy + Play the Pig to Eat the Tiger]

Also known as: [Ming Dynasty: Zhu Yuanzhang Hears My Thoughts and Strips Zhu Yunwen of His Position as Crown Prince] and [Ming Dynasty: I Just Want to Grab My Bucket and Run, but Old Zhu Pushes Me onto the Throne]

Zhu Yuntong transmigrates to the Ming Dynasty. He's a useless imperial grandson who only wants to run away.

To stay alive, he plays dumb, and at court, all he asks is where to find the best roast duck.

To scrape together travel money, he invents “Snow Cloud Socks” and tricks the gullible Li Jinglong into selling them.

Li Jinglong: Third Master, these lousy socks have a hole cut in them. You can sell them for five hundred taels?

Zhu Yuntong: Old Li, you have no imagination! They're called “battle-damaged edition.” Men love this sort of thing. The rip is what makes that sound!

And just like that, the whole Ming Dynasty goes completely off the rails...

The Duke of Cao's mansion is besieged by wives trying to get their hands on a pair of “leg-slimming magic socks.”

The top courtesans of the Qinhuai River can't even get through the door without wearing black stockings.

Even the Left Censor-in-Chief, who never stops preaching benevolence and morality, hides in his study, clutches his concubine's legs, and writes “propriety, righteousness, integrity, and shame” all over them, insisting it's performance art!

Zhu Yuanzhang: Good grandson, I hear your sock business is wildly profitable. Can you give the Imperial Treasury a thirty-percent cut too?

Also, when you call me “Old Geezer” in your thoughts, could you keep it down?

Zhu Yuntong: ?

So the biggest schemer in all of the Ming Dynasty is you, the emperor!

Zhu Yuanzhang: “...”

You little rascal, you act like a good grandson to my face, but play the prophet behind my back?
