Crime Above All 2: The Sin Domain

Part Two: Qin Muchen, director of the Major and Complex Cases Investigation Bureau, and Shen Muyun, a genius forensic intern who has returned from studying in Japan, make a golden team as they tackle ten baffling, extraordinary cases…

Part Three: When a cave explorer discovers a hidden cavern in the karst mountains of southwest China, three skeletonized bodies whose deaths span twenty years shock the Major and Complex Cases Investigation Bureau. Qin Muchen and Shen Muyun are forced to cut their vacation short and urgently investigate this cold case that reaches across time.

Through the unusual damage to the bones and an analysis of the cave deposits, Shen Muyun makes a startling discovery: the three deaths were no accident. All three victims were killed using the same ingenious method. The killer exploited the fluctuations of underground rivers and the growth patterns of stalactites to falsify the time of death and create an alibi. The case points to a professional cave exploration team that mysteriously disbanded twenty years ago.

Just as the investigation deepens, an urgent call for help comes from Ailao Mountain in Yunnan: all six members of a forest survey team have vanished. The last satellite signal they sent back contained eerie ritual drums and the team members' frenzied screams. Qin Muchen, director of the Major and Complex Cases Investigation Bureau and head of the Special Operations Command, leads a team into the rainforest. They find the camp intact and the supplies untouched, but the people have vanished as if they had evaporated. Shen Muyun, chief forensic scientist and head of the Special Investigations Division, analyzes insect fluids and plant samples collected at the scene and detects a rare hallucinogenic toxin. Someone has used an ancient ethnic legend about a mountain god's curse to carry out a modern biochemical crime.
