Tongfu Inn: Turmoil in the Capital

Twenty years later, the Happy Inn from Seven Heroes Town has moved next to the most expensive school district housing in the capital. Tong Xiangyu taps away at her abacus, muttering, “No matter how hard things get, we can’t let the children suffer.” Bai Zhantang’s light-footed kung fu is now used only to chase after his truant son. Guo Furong’s “Mountain-Splitting Palm” can’t wake her daughter from a late-night study session, and Lu Xiucai’s books of ancient wisdom have been replaced by overseas school brochures. Mo Xiaobei, head of the Hengshan Sect, has become the most formidable “older heroine” on the matchmaking scene. The inn that holds the laughter and tears of countless people of the jianghu now sways amid the bustle of the capital. The Ming economy is in decline, and the more Shopkeeper Tong studies her accounts, the more worried she gets. The marriage of former heroine constable Zhan Hongling and Senior Brother Zhui Feng is on the rocks. And a sudden plague nearly forces the inn to close its doors forever. When a fugitive from the Dragon Gate Escort Agency slips into the capital and Tong Shitou arrives in pursuit, everyone is swept into the turmoil. Only then do they realize that the jianghu has never truly gone away. This time, there are no peerless martial arts, only middle-aged parents tossing and turning late at night over their children’s future. There is no clash of blades, only old friends reaching out to support one another in a crisis, their palms warm with affection. From Seven Heroes Town to the capital, from wandering heroes to parents, they have learned one truth over twenty years: the greatest martial art is “making a life together,” and the deepest chivalry is “staying together.” At last, when the court’s commendation brings the children a chance to study overseas, and the Happy Inn becomes the warmest light in the capital, the old friends raise their cups and smile at one another. The jianghu may have grown old, but the story goes on. There will always be hot food, old friends, bonds that no argument can break, and a jianghu called “home.”
