The Hunter Comes Knocking

I was reborn as a fool in an ancient farming family. My parents were timid, and my younger siblings were still crying to be fed.

I brought out the cooking skills from my past life and set up a little stall at the village entrance.

At first, I only wanted to earn a little money to support my family. Who knew customers would soon be queuing out the door?

One serving of “golden broth beef” drew in the county's richest man, while a plate of “pan-fried fish belly” caught the attention of a passing high-ranking official.

Before long, my little stall had grown into a dining hall, and the dining hall into a restaurant.

The hunter who was always coming by for a free meal suddenly stopped me. “Boss, you should think about finding yourself a husband who can manage the books.”

I smiled and asked, “Do you have someone suitable in mind?”

His gaze burned as he replied, “What do you think of me?”
