The Eye of Data: I Become a Tycoon in Republican-Era China

Chen Su, a top data analyst, transmigrated by accident to Shanghai in 1920 and became a young clerk at a money house.

In this era, information was hard to come by and business opportunities were everywhere, but danger lurked at every turn. The trend in gold prices? The foreign trading houses’ hidden cards? The rise and fall of futures? While everyone else gambled on experience and instinct, Chen Su saw a different world.

While others were still chasing rumors, he had already begun building the era’s first civilian data-gathering network.

While his rivals blindly hoarded goods to drive up prices, he used regression analysis to predict where the market was headed.

From the retail figures for a box of matches or a pack of cigarettes, he uncovered the truth of everyday life. From the volume of ships passing through the docks, he foresaw the tides of the global economy.

Watch as he uses data-driven thinking far ahead of its time to dominate the stock market, foreign exchange, and industry, build his own business empire in the glittering metropolis, and rise step by step to become the most dazzling data tycoon of this chaotic age!
