Espionage: I’m the Mole in the Special Services Division

Good news: I transmigrated to the Republican era and awakened a golden finger that lets me see an object’s past just by touching it! Bad news: I’m a lowly maintenance worker. I have no status or influence, and nobody would believe me even if I told the truth! Even worse news: From the start, I discover that my superior is a traitor, and tonight he plans to wipe us all out! Scene one: I see the traitor hide a gun and a list in a secret compartment. I can’t say anything, so I pretend there’s an electrical problem and cut the power to his home, keeping him from leaving. The result: My superior chews me out, saying I’m no good at my job. He has no idea I just saved his life. Scene two: I see that Bureau 76 has planted a bomb in a cafe. I can’t shout a warning, so I “accidentally” splash a bucket of water onto the main breaker, causing chaos and making everyone leave early. The result: My boss docks half a month’s pay and calls me clumsy. Everyone says, “What rotten luck! We got stuck with an idiot repairman!” Scene three: I see the Japanese army’s top-secret intelligence. I can’t steal it, so while repairing a light, I pretend to space out and memorize it as fast as I can. The result: The intelligence reaches Shancheng and shocks the whole country. Boss Dai is ecstatic: “‘The Craftsman’ really is a genius!” Meanwhile, I get sent to clean the toilets because I was “slacking off” at work. (Throws up his hands helplessly.) Seriously, is being an ace agent supposed to be this frustrating?!
