Main Story:
Shen Hao, an elite soldier in a modern peacekeeping force, finds his soul transported to the Yongle era at the height of its prosperity, where he becomes an ordinary Imperial Guard. From the start, he is drawn into a bizarre murder case at a haunted house. By chance, he activates a mysterious System known as the Revelation Bureau and gains the ability to perceive demonic energy, called Spirit Sight. Using modern forensic thinking and the skills of an elite soldier, he solves one strange case after another, discovering that behind every demonic mystery lies a shocking conspiracy: powerful officials at court have colluded with demonic cultivators, hoping to overthrow the Ming Dynasty through plague and unrest. Shen Hao moves between the imperial court and the martial world, wielding the authority of the Imperial Guard to strike like thunder, slay demons, execute corrupt officials, face-slap powerful figures, and restore his family's honor. As an agent of the Revelation Bureau, he investigates the truth about the Jingnan Campaign that was buried from history, while secretly protecting the last surviving descendants of the former Crown Prince, the Jianwen Emperor. In the end, he faces the mastermind in a final showdown to protect the Ming Dynasty.
Setting:
An alternate-history Ming Dynasty during the Yongle era. On the surface, it is a golden age in which Zheng He sails west, the Yongle Encyclopedia is compiled, and foreign nations pay tribute. In secret, however, ancient demons are awakening, while demonic cultivators and ambitious figures within the court conspire to shake the foundations of the empire. Within the Imperial Guard is a secret, unspoken-of division called the Revelation Bureau, dedicated to handling bizarre cases involving supernatural forces.
