On a rainy night in Binhai City, beside the shipping containers at an abandoned wharf, forensic examiner Su Qingyuan searches for the truth, letting the bodies bear witness as she follows every clue. A brush of her fingers over a cold corpse is enough to decipher the messages death has left behind. And always at her back, shielding her from every storm, is Lu Yanchen, the captain of the criminal investigation team.
The bizarre staging of a serial killer's artistic dumpings, the family secrets of a century-old mansion, deadly poisons in a university lab, the dark dealings of an international crime syndicate, and a ten-year-old cold case tied to her parents: every case conceals grave danger. Su Qingyuan cracks one bizarre case after another with her exacting forensic skills, while Lu Yanchen gives everything to keep her safe. His simple words, "I'm here," are the most reassuring promise of all.
