Prince Jing's Little Chef Is Sweet and Soft

In the late spring of Jiangnan, the sweet and perceptive young cook Su Ruantao makes a living at Peach Kitchen, the small restaurant her mother left behind, relying on her excellent cooking and comforting medicinal dishes. During a violent rainstorm, she rescues Regent Xiao Jingyuan, who was ambushed while investigating a case and whose old left-shoulder injury has flared up again. A bowl of lamb soup with angelica warms his stomach, and also the heart of a man long accustomed to holding power. Before taking his leave, the outwardly cold but inwardly warm Xiao Jingyuan gives her a jade pendant engraved with the character Jing as a promise, and tells her, "If you run into trouble in the capital, you can come to me." Later, floods devastate Jiangnan and destroy the restaurant. Carrying her mother's recipes for medicinal dishes, Su Ruantao heads to the capital to find the man she once knew. Thus begins a delightfully sweet story that takes her and Prince Jing from their first meeting in a small restaurant to falling in love at the prince's residence, and then to a grand wedding and raising their children together. There are no melodramatic misunderstandings, only a prince devoted to spoiling his wife and a cook pursuing her ambitions, as they journey toward each other. Amid the warmth of everyday life, the story holds a tenderness that truly touches the heart.
