Ling Wuji enjoys watching from the sidelines at first. Later, after forming bonds with the others, he changes from a “viewer” into a “director.”

He gives Daiyu a cultivation-style breathing technique to strengthen her body, and uses sword energy to peel an apple for Baoyu, making the peel stretch on for three zhang without breaking.
