The Kunlun Void is not the end of myth, but the beginning of a brutal truth. When archaeologist Zhou Chen touches a thousand-year-old sacrificial vessel, he reads not history but frenzied muttering and the agony of bones being snapped apart. A “stairway to godhood,” forged from the bones of modern-day corpses, bursts from the earth, proclaiming that the shadow of the divine kingdom’s gates has fallen over the world once more.
At the same time, descendants of the forgotten “Night Watchers,” power-twisted “Seekers,” and long-hidden factions all emerge. Zhou Chen and his companions are forced to flee deep into the forbidden lands of Kunlun. Relying on his gradually awakening ability of “empathy,” he searches for a way to survive in the fog. But they soon discover that the most dangerous threats are not the pursuers and monsters outside the gate, but the whisper coming from within: “One door opens, one door closes; one ascends to godhood, one falls into the abyss.”
When the only key to the divine kingdom is the sacrifice of the companion they trust most, what choice will they make?
