Drawn together by a mysterious force, two boys follow fragments of their dreams on a journey to uncover the truth. They retrace the paths her younger sister once took, ask the people she once knew, and eventually stop beside a pond identical to the one in their dreams.
Years later, a torrential rain washes a secret out from the bottom of the pond. A Lego minifigure, brought to light after years sealed away in an old toy box, becomes the final key to unlocking the past. While the adults accept the seemingly reasonable conclusion that it was an “accident,” Lin Xiaoyu falls into an even deeper silence once the truth comes to light.
He must venture alone into the depths of his memories and dredge up the star that has slept for years, the one tied to “evil” and “sin.”
The Sleeping Star is more than a mystery. It is a delicate and courageous journey inward, illuminating the hidden shadows of growing up.
