The Supporting Female Lead Gets to Take It Easy in the Seventies

Liu Yun transmigrates into a novel set in the 1970s, becoming the foil to the hardworking heroine who strikes it rich: Fu Shaoqing, a lazy, greedy cannon-fodder supporting female character.

According to the original plot, she’ll be despised and cast aside by her husband, meeting a tragic end.

But then a [Lie-Back-and-Win System] binds itself to her: as long as she keeps up her lazy, greedy persona, she’ll receive generous rewards.

So Liu Yun gives up trying completely. Every day, she sleeps until late morning, spends money shopping, craves meat at every meal, and waits to be divorced.

But as she waits, the plot goes off the rails

Her mother-in-law, who used to complain about her laziness, says, “My daughter-in-law is frail. You all should do more work.”

Her sisters-in-law, who used to complain about her appetite, say, “Shaoqing brought back fabric coupons. Let’s make you all new clothes, too.”

The villagers, who used to complain she was a spendthrift, say, “The sixth son of the Hu family wrote. He wants to bring his wife to join him in the army. He’s stationed by the sea, too!”

While the heroine sweats it out in the fields, Liu Yun lies on the beach, basking in the sun and feasting on seafood dishes rewarded by the System.

The whole village is stunned: Wasn’t he supposed to divorce her? How did she end up being spoiled rotten?!
