Fa Sanzang: From the Start, I Take Bai Suzhen as My Mount

I woke up as Fahai.

Before I could even go looking for Lady White Snake, the Great Compassionate Pilgrimage System forcibly bound itself to me.

“Congratulations, Host, you are now the Heaven-Chosen Pilgrim: Fa Sanzang!”

Me: “??? I’m Fahai! Demon-slaying is my profession!”

But refusing meant a complimentary serving of heavenly lightning.

Fine, I’ll do it! But I’m in charge of the pilgrimage team!

The System only assigns roles, so I’ll just “recruit” the team myself...

Bai Suzhen? Forget romance. You’re my chief mount, the “White Dragon Horse”!

Xiaoqing? Stop glaring. You’re “Bi Wujing.” Get those bags on your back!

Spider Demon? Stop weaving webs and become “Zhu Wuneng.” Go beg for alms and scout the way!

Golden-Winged Roc? Quit acting so proud and become “Shun Wukong.” Protect me on my journey west!

When the Tathagata saw my demon-infested crew, he refused to sign off on the spot. “Your methods are brutal, and you have no compassion. You are unworthy of the true scriptures!”

I took one step forward, and Buddha’s light transformed into the “Mighty Heavenly Dragon.”

“You say my methods are wrong?”

“Then I can sit on your Buddha throne too!”
