Hua Yuanqing thought she would spend her whole life writing novels and ghost stories. Her world had no real ghosts: any that did exist were tightly controlled by the authorities below, and you might not encounter one even once in ten years. That is, until she arrived in another world...
In this world, the Underworld could barely keep up with the ghosts. The knowledge she had learned still applied, though, and soon after she arrived, Zhang Zhaozhao, the senior sister at a Taoist temple, found her and brought her back to safety. Only then did she discover that she had an identity in this world, too. According to Zhang Zhaozhao, her counterpart had often run into ghosts and come to them for help, but before the matter could be resolved, she had transmigrated.
Running into ghosts? That was a stroke of luck for her. She wrote ghost stories, after all. After getting to know Zhang Zhaozhao, she set off on the path of catching ghosts and driving out evil.
But can someone tell her why Wu Xie, the owner of the shop next to her teahouse, keeps doing strange things, yet no ghosts go near him? And what about his strange friends? At first, she only approached them to use them as a shield against ghosts. Hua Yuanqing didn’t want to keep running into ghosts every day, after all. But as they spend more time together, why do they look at her so differently? It makes her want to get away from them...
Wu Xie: Qingqing, I met you first. Why are you more willing to get close to them?
Zhang Qiling: Sorry. I just hoped you would look at me again.
Xie Yuchen: Yuanqing, I could take care of you for the rest of your life, too. Could you stay away from them?
Hei Xiazi: Ah Qing, no one has ever loved me like this. Don’t leave me alone again.
...The rest can be left out...
Zhang Zhaozhao: They’re all so charming!
Huo Xiuxiu: I don’t know these people!
