Interpreting Journey to the West

Decoding Journey to the West

The boldest textual investigation of Journey to the West on the entire internet! Modern blogger Su Jianwei unexpectedly encounters Yun Xuan, a living archive of the pilgrimage who has become stranded between the Three Realms. Together, they dig into the original novel’s earth-shattering secrets:

Was the Stone Monkey a pawn planted by Buddhism and Daoism together? Does Patriarch Subhuti’s true identity conceal a thousand-year scheme? Was the Kingdom of Women never a romantic trial, but an arena of power and intrigue?

There are no formulaic thrills of vanquishing demons, only detail-by-detail analysis that overturns everything you thought you knew: the immortals’ mounts descending to the mortal world wasn’t an accident, the scripture without words was the true core of the scriptures, and the disciples’ apotheosis was actually an exchange of interests!

Each chapter reveals an obscure fact about the original. The secret struggle between Buddhism and Daoism, trials of human nature, and power games are unveiled layer by layer, showing you the hidden truth of the Three Realms behind Journey to the West. The more you read, the more hooked you’ll get!
