Number Five, Wutong Street

Through the lives of five girls born in the 1980s, from high school to middle age, this story traces how they change and remain true to themselves in friendship, love, and their careers. In the autumn of 2000, five girls with very different personalities became close friends in their second year at Jiangcheng No. 7 High School: the steady Lin Xiaoyue, the artsy Su Tong, the top student Zhou Yu, the lively Zhao Meng, and the gentle Chen Yue. The story follows them through life's major milestones, from the college entrance exams and university to their first jobs, starting families, and building careers. Over twenty years, they face the pains and joys of growing up together, and eventually each finds meaning in life, shaped by the passage of time.
