Murong Fu Slacks Off, and His Ancestors in Yan Weep in Despair

I’d just transmigrated into Murong Fu, the “Northern Qiao Feng, Southern Murong,” and I was completely dumbfounded.

Restore the Kingdom of Yan? What a miserable chore! I had Swallow Island and the Library of the Returning Pavilion, money, power, martial arts, and the heavenly beauty Wang Yuyan by my side. All I wanted was to lie flat and live it up as a carefree little emperor of Jiangnan. Secret martial arts manuals? They’re good for propping up a table! The jianghu’s feuds? What do they have to do with me?

But I never imagined that just as I was about to dismiss my retainers and disband the restoration movement, the ancestral graves in the back courtyard would explode!

“Unfilial descendant Murong Chen, if you dare bring the Kingdom of Yan to an end, we’ll turn into vengeful ghosts and make sure you never know peace in this life or the next!”

[Ding! The Great Yan Mandate of Heaven System has forcibly bound itself to you!]

[Beginner quest: Renew your resolve to restore the kingdom, or die on the spot!]

Me: “…”

Fine, restore the kingdom, is that it? You’re forcing me, are you?

Then don’t blame me for using twenty-first-century methods to give this jianghu a little taste of modern shock!

Qiao Feng? Forget being Prince of the Southern Court. Come be my grand marshal! Duan Yu? The Six Meridians Divine Sword is impressive? I’ll use it as my royal salute! Sweeper Monk? Come on, Master, the newly established Royal Academy of Sciences needs talent like you!

I, Murong Chen, will build a “New Great Yan” unlike anything the world has ever seen, in my own way!
