Who Knows the Song of the Brocade Zither? The Stand-In Was Me All Along

For fifteen years, I was my legitimate elder sister’s stand-in. I learned to smile like her, walk like her, even furrow my brows at the same angle.

They praised me: “You look just like her.”

Later, they gave me away like a present to the man she could never have: the Prince of Zhenbei.

As they sent me off in my bridal sedan, my elder sister smiled with venom. “Remember, you’ll always be my shadow.”

Fine.

Then I’ll use this face, identical to hers,

to steal her favor, ruin her reputation, and cut off her every path.

Let her learn what it feels like to live in someone else’s shadow.

After all, the one who knows best how to destroy a stand-in

is the stand-in herself.
