Back to the Seventies: The Hunter’s Pampered Wife from a Landlord Family

Zhang Aiguo transmigrates back to 1975, to Zhangjia Village, where he is dumped by his fiancée from the start because she looks down on his poverty, becoming the laughingstock of the whole village. Just then, the family of capitalist Li Xiujuan is sent down to the village, where they endure one hardship after another. A piece of fruit candy and a hot egg bring two souls, seemingly worlds apart, together to comfort each other through adversity. When Li Xiujuan boldly asks, “Would you dare marry me?” Zhang Aiguo answers without hesitation: “Why wouldn’t I?”

And so, a country hunter and a fallen young lady begin a marriage that nobody believes in. With his photographic memory and strength enough to lift a heavy cauldron, Zhang Aiguo hunts in the mountains and trades on the black market, becoming the family’s pillar. Li Xiujuan, meanwhile, uses her intelligence and resilience to fill their humble days with warmth and charm.

When the Li family is cleared of its charges, everyone assumes Li Xiujuan will take the children back to the city. But she stands firmly by her husband, pregnant and resolute: “Wherever Aiguo is, that’s where I’ll be!”
