Sacrificed from the Start, I Turn the Tables Through Autopsies

After a lab explosion, He Mei, a leading modern forensic pathologist, transmigrates into the body of a death-row prisoner who has already been sentenced to hanging. The original owner was accused of practicing dark magic and is to be burned as a sacrifice to Heaven in three days. Using her professional expertise and the forensic System she brought with her, He Mei buys herself some time by examining a corpse, only to discover that she has become entangled in a massive conspiracy. She meets Sang Guyi, a mysterious healer who both saves and imprisons her, a man with far too many secrets. While investigating a series of murders, He Mei finds a crescent-moon brand on the neck of every victim, and all the evidence points to an ancient cult. Even more shocking, her transmigration was no accident, but part of a plan spanning time and space. As the truth at the altar gradually comes to light, He Mei discovers that Sang Guyi was the original "sacrifice," while she herself is the only variable in this cycle. Hunted by the cult, doubted by the authorities, and threatened by forces from another world, He Mei must use her modern forensic knowledge to unravel a mystery spanning hundreds of years and break this endless time loop.
