Proving the Dao in the Mortal World

If the Heavenly Dao abandons me, I’ll establish my own path among mortals!

Lu Ran refused to sever the ties of affection that compelled him to save others. For that, the immortal sect stripped him of his bones and cultivation and cast him down into the mortal world. The Immortal Venerable declared, “His Dao foundation is utterly destroyed. He’ll be a cripple forever!”

But Lu Ran soon discovered a new path among mortals: studying to cultivate vital energy, healing the sick to build virtue, and drawing power from the faith of the people. When the prodigies of the immortal sect were still struggling to absorb spiritual energy, his strength was already flourishing amid the bustle of everyday life.

The heavens were enraged. They sent down the peerless mystic maiden Su Yueling, bearing the merciless decree of the Heavenly Dao and sworn to erase this “variable.”

But at his side, she witnessed something more astounding than ten thousand years of immortal laws: a scholar in a mortal body standing against the might of heaven, and the faith of ordinary people shaking the immortals themselves!

Later, she stood before him with her sword raised and decisively rebelled against her former master. The Immortal Venerable cried out in fury, “Have you forgotten your mission?!”

Her gaze was as steadfast as a star:

“My mission is to protect the true Heavenly Dao of the mortal world.”

[This is a path no one has ever walked before: taking affection as its vessel and the heart as its flame, it will burn through the mortal world and prove the way to immortality!]
