“When the rules were written, the taboos opened their eyes.”
This is a book that should not be opened late at night.
It contains twenty-one tales that never happened, yet happen every night.
Each tale is a public record that has been erased;
each chapter is a living dissection of the word “rules.”
Once the rules begin, the story unfolds on its own.
You think you're reading it, but in truth, it's reading you.
Every page is an erased urban archive, and every chapter is a fragment of a recording that crossed the line:
Some follow the rules to survive, only to discover they've become part of them.
Some desperately try to break the rules, but understand why they exist at the very moment they do.
And some copy the rules into their diaries, only to wake and see the words continuing to write themselves beneath their skin...
Before reading, make sure:
1. There isn't a mirror in your room that you never hung there.
2. Your shadow is the right size and is willing to stay still after the lights go out.
3. You swear that if you see your name appear at the bottom of a page, you'll close the book immediately and destroy it in the firelight.
If you can't guarantee any of the above,
put the book back where you found it, forget this introduction, and keep living in a world with boundaries.
Because if you turn one more page,
“boundaries” will no longer be able to protect you.
“They were written down so they could be broken.”
Do you still dare to break them?
