This is the story of Pei Shaoyi, an orphaned girl who enters the capital to help salt workers. Amid a turbulent political landscape, she roots out corrupt officials, foils an enemy nation's schemes, overcomes the dangers she faces, and gradually rises to become chief minister.

There is no romantic pairing in this novel. The heroine is clear-headed and clever, not a Mary Sue.
Even if hardly anyone reads it, I'm still going to write it properly. This is my first attempt at a political intrigue novel, so please go easy on me, dear readers. Though probably no one will read it, sob sob. Writing in total solitude isn't a first for me, so there's nothing to be afraid of. Worst case, I'll just do it alone again.
