Revenge in the Inner Palace: Crowned a Commandery Princess

The palace gates were locked tight, taking Yun Yao’s family name and freedom from her. Because she resembled someone from the past, she became a hazy reflection in the emperor’s eyes, confined to the old quarters of a once-favored consort. The moonlight at Fuxue Pavilion and the sighs at Lan Jing Hall whispered of the secrets behind Consort Chen’s downfall. A blood-written letter, a burned zither, a ghostly glimmer beneath a bronze mirror… Amid layer upon layer of deadly schemes, she gathered the fragments of the truth. Fortunately, she found someone to walk beside her through the darkness. Though battered and bruised, they fought side by side. When the injustice was redressed and glory was hers, with the phoenix crown and embroidered wedding robes within reach, she chose instead to turn away at first light, burn away her attachments, and sink the purple jade flute beneath the still waters. She bid farewell to the shadows of the past and roamed the world with her confidant. From then on, the world was vast, and she belonged to herself.
