This Brother Is Not to Be Messed With

My brother works as a mechanic, but he beats me up even faster than he fixes cars. I thought he was the big bad wolf, until my classmates and I were kidnapped overseas. That was when he showed me what a real demon king looks like.

Two of his comrades gave their lives to get me home. My brother didn’t say a word. He just quietly got in touch with a group of people every bit as terrifying as he was.

Later, the news reported that an international crime syndicate had been completely dismantled. I watched my brother wash the blood from his hands as he said softly, “Xue’er, I’ve avenged you.”

Only then did I understand that his love for me had never been limited to breakfast and a curfew.
